Xiaomi Expects EV Business to Turn Profitable in Second Half of 2025

Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun said the company expects its electric vehicle business to become profitable in the second half of 2025, according to a company spokesperson.

The announcement comes as Xiaomi reported a loss of 0.5 billion yuan (USD 69.5 million) from its smart EVs, artificial intelligence, and other new ventures for the quarter ending March 31.


Despite the loss, Xiaomi’s EV business generated 18.1 billion yuan in revenue during the same period.


The company plans to launch its second electric vehicle model, the YU7, in July.
