Tesla Reportedly Secures Energy Storage Battery Supply from Samsung SDI

South Korea’s Samsung SDI has reportedly reached an agreement to supply Tesla with Energy Storage System batteries valued at more than 3 trillion won (USD 2.11 billion). This supply arrangement is anticipated to span three years.

The Korea Economic Daily newspaper reported on this development, citing an unnamed source within the battery industry.


Samsung SDI stated that nothing had been decided regarding such an agreement.

  • Samsung SDI reportedly agreed to supply Energy Storage System (ESS) batteries to Tesla.

  • The reported deal is valued at over 3 trillion won (USD 2.11 billion).
